Project Overview:
This landmark project involved the design and construction of the New U.S. Consulate Compound in Lagos, one of the most secure, technologically advanced diplomatic facilities in West Africa. The compound comprised multiple buildings, infrastructure systems, high-security features, and green landscaping, all built to U.S. federal construction standards and local compliance regulations.
Key Contributions:
Engineering Coordination: Reviewed specifications and design documents; issued construction-phase drawings and RFIs.
Site Execution Planning: Oversaw manpower, scheduling, and execution strategies for structural elements and underground systems.
Materials & Testing: Coordinated with third-party laboratories on concrete mix designs, 100-year service life modeling, and pile testing.
Structural Works: Delivered structural calculations for deep foundations, manholes, vaults, road pavements, and temporary supports.
Shop Drawings & Detailing: Prepared reinforcement shop drawings for major components, including vaults, pedestrian bridges, swimming pools, and tanks.
Quality Control & Documentation: Prepared engineering documents, RFDCs, and submittals for DOR and OBO approval.
Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitated daily and weekly planning sessions with field engineers, subcontractors, and U.S. government representatives.
Procurement: Managed sourcing of construction materials locally and internationally in accordance with U.S. specifications.
Contractor Oversight: Managed subcontractors for CFA piles, bored piles, and sheet piles to ensure timely and safe delivery.
